I don’t know a soul who’s not been battered. I don’t have a friend who feels at ease. I don’t know a dream that’s not been shattered, or driven to its knees.
Unfortunately, the MAGA crowd will not learn anything, even from catastrophic defeat. They're already spinning a Paxton loss as the result of traitorous RINOS/Never Trumpers who are upset that a True Conservative beat a swamp creature in the primary, rather than the possibility that the squishy middle just doesn't like Paxton's vibe in a very bad year for Republicans. (And I say this as someone who thinks that Talarico is a smarmy heretic. Dude thinks the gospel of Thomas is authoritative, and misreads it to boot.)
> traitorous RINOS/Never Trumpers who are upset that a True Conservative beat a swamp creature in the primary
Yeah, everything is always the "RINOS"' fault, as if they were entitled to the votes of everyone who dislikes Democrats, and they were owed the very same slowly constructed and carefully maintained coalition that they themselves gleefully smashed up when they came into power. All a big loop of circular reasoning. Oh well.
My expectations are a bit more modest than yours, but I do think Democrats take both houses. While I'll be glad that Trump would have a real check on his power, I'd be concerned about what happens if it's President AOC and a fully Democrat controlled Congress come 2029. In that case, Republicans would have no one to blame but themselves for screwing the pooch so hard.

Insult to injury!
